It was originally released on May 25, 1957. The title is a pun on Pike's Peak. ==Plot summary== This cartoon features Yosemite Sam and Bugs Bunny competing to see who can climb the Schmatterhorn〔a pun on the Matterhorn〕 first and win 50,000 kronkites.〔a pun on Walter Cronkite, and a reference to famed vaudeville comedians Smith & Dale's famous ''Dr. Kronkheit'' sketch. Krankheit, pronounced cronk-hite, means "sickness" in German.〕 Instead, Yosemite ends up climbing the Eiffel Tower after a series of mountain climbing gags, to the sound of band music. A running gag in the cartoon is that every time Sam falls off the mountain and starts over, the band starts playing the send-off tune and the crowd beings cheering again, as if he never started.
