Piker's Peak

''Piker's Peak'' is a Warner Bros. Looney Tunes animated short directed by Friz Freleng. It was originally released on May 25, 1957. The title is a pun on Pike's Peak.
==Plot summary==

This cartoon features Yosemite Sam and Bugs Bunny competing to see who can climb the Schmatterhorn〔a pun on the Matterhorn〕 first and win 50,000 kronkites.〔a pun on Walter Cronkite, and a reference to famed vaudeville comedians Smith & Dale's famous ''Dr. Kronkheit'' sketch. Krankheit, pronounced cronk-hite, means "sickness" in German.〕 Instead, Yosemite ends up climbing the Eiffel Tower after a series of mountain climbing gags, to the sound of band music.
A running gag in the cartoon is that every time Sam falls off the mountain and starts over, the band starts playing the send-off tune and the crowd beings cheering again, as if he never started. The band also appears on the Eiffel Tower after Sam and Bugs find themselves there, and they play the song one last time, continuously into the "That's all Folks!" end titles.
